WPT Venetian Festival Opens With Nearly $4 Million in Guarantees

The World Poker Tour is returning to Las Vegas with a major autumn tournament series, as the WPT Venetian Fall Festival gets underway on October 28 with nearly $4 million in guaranteed prize pools.

Hosted at The Venetian Resort on the Las Vegas Strip, the festival runs through November 15 and features a packed schedule of No-Limit Hold’em tournaments, bounty events, satellites and other competitions designed to attract a broad range of players.

The main attraction is the $5,000-entry WPT Venetian Fall Championship, which carries a guaranteed prize pool of $2 million. The four-day championship is scheduled to begin on November 5, with starting flights running through November 7 before the remaining players return for the later stages.

The event is expected to draw a mixture of experienced tournament professionals, established mid-stakes players and recreational competitors looking to take part in a major live poker series.

For the Venetian, the festival provides another opportunity to reinforce its position as one of Las Vegas’s established destinations for live tournament poker.

A Festival Built Around a Major Championship

The headline event is the centrepiece of the schedule, but the wider series offers several routes for players looking to compete at different price points.

The $5,000 WPT Venetian Fall Championship guarantees at least $2 million in prize money, giving the tournament a substantial headline figure before registration numbers are known.

Players will have multiple starting flights available between November 5 and November 7. Those who advance will return for Day 2 on November 8, followed by Day 3 on November 9. The championship is scheduled to conclude on November 10, with the final action set to be livestreamed on PokerGO.

The structure gives participants more than one opportunity to enter the opening stages while creating a clear progression towards the final table.

For spectators, the championship also provides a focal point within a longer festival featuring daily tournaments and additional opportunities to compete.

Events Begin on October 28

The opening day features a $600 No-Limit Hold’em Seniors tournament, which is restricted to players aged 50 and above and carries a $40,000 guarantee.

A satellite event is also scheduled, offering five seats for a subsequent tournament, alongside a $400 No-Limit Hold’em bounty event with a guaranteed prize pool of $15,000.

The schedule continues on October 29 with the opening flight of a $1,100 No-Limit Hold’em tournament carrying a $500,000 guarantee. Further starting flights are planned over the following days, giving players additional opportunities to qualify for the later stages.

Additional events throughout the festival include tournaments with buy-ins ranging from several hundred dollars to the $5,000 championship.

This variety is an important part of the series format. While the main event attracts attention because of its guaranteed prize pool and WPT status, the broader schedule allows players to choose competitions based on their experience, budget and preferred tournament structure.

Satellites Offer Another Route Into the Main Event

Satellite tournaments are also expected to play a role in the festival.

These competitions allow players to compete for seats in larger events rather than paying the full championship buy-in directly. The Venetian’s published schedule includes several satellite opportunities associated with the WPT Fall Championship.

For some participants, satellites provide a more accessible entry point into a tournament with a substantial headline prize pool.

However, qualifying through a satellite does not guarantee a cash finish in the main event. Players must still navigate the same competitive field and tournament structure once they take their seats.

The availability of these events nevertheless helps connect the festival’s smaller tournaments with its headline championship.

A Busy Period for Live Poker

The Venetian series arrives during an active period for international tournament poker, with major events taking place across several established destinations.

Las Vegas remains an important venue because of its concentration of poker rooms, tournament infrastructure and accommodation options. Large festivals can attract both travelling professionals and local players, creating an environment in which multiple tournament formats operate alongside one another.

For organisers, a successful series depends on more than the headline guarantee. Scheduling, tournament structures, player services and the ability to maintain interest throughout the festival all contribute to the overall experience.

The nearly $4 million in guaranteed prize pools provides a clear commercial headline, but the final prize pools of individual events will depend on participation and the terms of each tournament.

It is therefore important to distinguish between guaranteed amounts announced in advance and the eventual prize money awarded after registration closes.

What to Watch in the Coming Days

Attention will increasingly turn towards the $2 million-guaranteed championship as the festival progresses.

The opening days will establish the rhythm of the series, while the later starting flights and Day 2 will begin to reveal the strength of the main event’s field.

The final stages, scheduled for November 8–10, should provide the clearest picture of who remains in contention for the championship title and a place in the WPT Champions Club.

Beyond the main event, the wider schedule gives players multiple opportunities to compete and offers spectators a steady flow of tournament action throughout the festival.

The WPT Venetian Fall Festival is another example of how major live poker series combine a headline championship with a broader programme designed to appeal to different segments of the poker community.

With the series now underway, the next major milestone will be the start of the $5,000 championship on November 5.

Its $2 million guarantee makes it the festival’s defining event, but the overall success of the series will depend on participation across the full schedule and the competition that develops over the coming weeks.
